One of my least favorite house chores is cleaning and organizing the fridge. The task is just so monotonous and being someone who loves organization it feels like it takes me forever! As soon as I get home from the store on Sunday I work on the fridge and one of the first items I wash and put away is our fruit.
During the summer months when fresh berries, melon and pineapple are in season we stock our fridge full. There is no doubt they are our favorite snacks. Over the years, Chris and I have both found that if we leave fruit in the containers we purchase them in and wash them once we are going to eat them that we rarely ever finish them all. Since then, we always make it a point to wash our fruit as soon as we get home and place them in bowls to put away in the fridge.
Good idea, you say? It seemed to work for awhile but eventually we would run out of bowls or they would clutter up the fridge being just not quite the right size.
